Why use PON technology?
The TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) operation is much more efficient than the traditional CSMA CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) used by local networks, since it guarantees the sending of the frames without collisions and retrasmissions, each at its specific time.
